It is a fun-filled experience to spend a lazy afternoon plinking and hitting targets with your kid in your own backyard.

But, wouldn’t you be asking too much of your kid, if you expect him to hit the target with your gun? Of course it will! To make things easy, Norica has come up with youth training rifles that are ideal for training your kid in shooting. The best part about these Norica Young Air Rifles is that they come at an affordable price. So, you no longer have to shell out a large amount of cash to get your kid his very first hunter sport air rifle.

Like all spring guns, this Beeman air rifle is cocked by a mechanism that demands that the barrel is hinged at mid point (break barrel.) The rifle provides easy cocking. The Beeman R7 Air Rifle-1 is perfect for hunting small rodents and game, hitting spinners, plinking, and target shooting. You can teach your wife and children how to shoot during weekends. Plinking at balloons, tin cans, glass bottles, or any other similar targets, which are handy, can make them good shooters with a little practice. Importantly, the Beeman air gun is also safe and it weighs merely 6.10 lbs.

You can increase the accuracy of the R7 Rifle by mounting a rifle scope on the 11 mm dovetail grooves on its receiver. The rifle comes with checkered grip to help you hold the gun steadily, whereas the rubber butt pad reduces felt recoil on the air rifle and adds to the control. The Beeman R7 Air Rifle-1 also has the legendary two-stage adjustable Rekord trigger, which gives a sharp, predictable, and adjustable let-off. With all these, you will definitely have more hits than misses when you use this Beeman air rifle.

The satin finish on the stained beech stock protects your rifle from minor scratches besides giving it a cool and stylish look. The 0.20 caliber R7 Cocking Spring-piston Gun is one of the few guns that are made with such features. The Beeman R7 Air Rifle-1 will win you over completely, once you hold it in your hands.

The Beretta M9A1 – A Professional Pistol

Friday, June 5th, 2009

beretta-airsoft-pistolThe Beretta M9A1 CO2 Pistol is the modified version of the semi automatic M9 pistol used by the United States military in the 1989s. These Beretta blow back air guns are used by the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. This single chamber and single barrel pistol uses the energy from the recoil of a single round of ammunition for extracting and ejecting the fired cartridge from the chamber and load an unfired round for the next shot. The Beretta M9A1 1:1 replica sold at Sportsman’s Depot uses a 0.12 gram CO2 cartridge and has a muzzle velocity of up to 380 fps when 0.12 gram BBs are used. Its performance is even better with 0.20 gram or heavier BBs due to improved accuracy.

The M9A1 has more aggressive front and backstrap checkering. It has a beveled magazine well for easier reloading and a reversible magazine release to help left-handers.

A picatinny rail has been added for attaching lights, lasers, and other accessories to your Beretta M9A1 CO2 Pistol. These pistols come with PVD-coated magazines to cope with sandy conditions better.

These pistols include a safety mechanism that reduces risk to the shooter in case of a slide failure. Beretta M9A1 Airsoft Guns are propelled by CO2. To compress the air that is used to force the BB out of the barrel, the gas is either stored in the magazine or on-board. It is used later to cycle back the slide, which causes recoil by cycling the slide back and forth.

Beretta M9A1 CO2 Pistols have an all-metal construction and so are highly robust. These 0.24 caliber M9A1 pistols weigh 5.40 lbs. They are also highly durable and have a life of thousands of rounds, which is above the service life contractually required for the pistol.
So, if you want an authentic pistol with unmatched firepower, I recommend you to go for one of these Beretta M9A1 Airsoft Guns.

crosman-air-rifles1Want to build your son’s confidence in shooting? Here is something for him: the Crosman 1077 Air Rifle. These Crosman fun rifles are light and can be easily held by kids. With a little practice, he will not only become a good shooter but will also have lots of fun in the process. You’ll get some father-son bonding time too.

The Crosman 1077 Air Rifle is a .177 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a barrel length of 20.38 inches. The barrel length gives a fantastic muzzle speed of 625 fps. (The muzzle speed is the speed at which the projectile leaves the muzzle of the rifle.)

These Crosman fun rifles have so many features to increase the skill and confidence of a beginner. Its 12-shot repeating system will give the shooter more time to be in action. No interruptions over and over unlike with conventional rifles! Crosman Air Rifles also feature a fiber optic front sight, which assists you while taking aim. Another advantage of Crosman air rifles is its side-to-side windage adjustment at the rear sight. You will be able to shoot accurately with these horizontal adjustments.

Another reason for its accuracy is its synthetic stock with checkering on the pistol grip and the forearm. The synthetic stock protects it from warpage or shift due to variation in temperature. If you want even more accuracy, you can mount a scope on its 11 mm dovetailed receiver. No wonder the Crosman 1077 Air Rifle was selected for the 2001 Bikathlon Event at the Boy Scout Jamboree.

These Crosman air guns are low on noise and will not affect people with sensitive ears. Nor will they disturb your neighbors. Not just your son, your entire family can join in the fun. I highly recommend that you get one of these fun rifles and have unlimited fun.

What Are Scope Mounts, Why Do You Need Them?

Monday, May 4th, 2009

This post will talk about some of the mount parts and scopes that are used in air rifles. First of all, why does one need a scope for the rifle? A good scope delivers accurate shots, facilitates long range shooting, and ensures quicker recovery time. But it doesn’t end there!! A good scope needs a good quality scope mount. Even if you have spent a small fortune on you scope, it couldn’t perform with an inferior mount.

Points to remember before buying a scope:

1. Perfect fit: Your new scope mount should fit the rifle perfectly. If you don’t set it up correctly, you will shoot nowhere near the target!

2. Brand and Warranty: Look for scopes from a good manufacturer and also note down the warranty period.

3. Magnification: While higher power of magnification offers lesser field of view, less power scopes provide larger fields of view. Choose one as per your need.

4. Flexibility: Check for detailed adjustment options in your rifle scopes. You should be able to adjust windage, elevation, focus, and power settings suitably.

5. Right crosshair: A crosshair is a shape superimposed on an image to help you align your rifle precisely before a shot. You might need an illuminated reticle for low-light conditions.
