North American Arms Derringer Pistols and revolvers are manufactured by the Provo, Utah based North American Arms, previously knownpas Rocky Mountain Arms. In 1971 Rocky Mountain Arms was founded, and just a couple years later became the North American Arms company. In 1991 the company came under its current owner, Sandy Chisholm, and has remained in the state of Utah. Some of the first North American Arms Derringer Pistols and revolvers were a diminutive 3.5" revolver chambered in .22 short and a hand cannon chambered in 450 Magnum Express.
North American Arms Derringer Pistols and revolvers have primarily been designed and developed for personal protection. Deliberately small, light, and concealable, to be easily carried and utilized for their intended purpose; personal defense. As a testament to that goal, many law enforcement and military personnel use North American Arms pistols as 2nd and 3rd backup weapons, or as an off-duty carry situation. North American Arms Derringer Pistols and revolvers come in several chamber options, including .25 NAA, .32 ACP, .32 NAA, .380 ACP, .22 Short, .22 Long Rifle, .22 Winchester Mangnum Rimfire and .22 black powder cap and ball.
