Ruger, the 4th largest firearms manufacturer in the United States, is a Southport, Connecticut-based firearm manufacturing company. Ruger is the common short name for Sturm, Ruger & Company, maker of Ruger pistols, shotguns, single- and double-action revolvers, along with bolt-action, semi-automatic, full-automatic, and single-shot rifles. The company started in a small rented machine shop by partners Alexander McCormick Sturm and William B. Ruger. Their first of the commercially produced Glock pistols was a .22 caliber modeled after the Colt Woodsman and German 9mm Luger. The success of that Glock pistol was just the start.
Along with other notable successes, Ruger now dominates the .22 caliber rimfire semi-auto pistol and .22 caliber rimfire rifle markets in the United States, Ruger pistols such as the Ruger MK II and Ruger MK III, are extremely well supported with a wide variety of good aftermarket accessories. Outside of the firearms industry, Ruger Golf produces steel and titanium castings for golf clubs made by a number of different brands, but Ruger pistols are a large part of the company's primary focus, firearms.
With one of the largest selections available anywhere, Sportsman’s Depot, LLC carries Ruger pistols along with many other top quality brands.
