Ruger, the 4th largest firearms manufacturer in the United States, is a Southport, Connecticut-based firearm manufacturing company. Ruger is the common short name for Sturm, Ruger & Company, maker of Ruger shotguns, single- and double-action revolvers, sport rifles, semi-automatic pistols, along with bolt-action, semi-automatic, full-automatic, and single-shot rifles. The company started in a small rented machine shop by partners Alexander McCormick Sturm and William B. Ruger.
Over the years Sturm, Ruger & Company has produced Ruger shotguns in both single- and double-barrel varieties. Among them are the Gold Label Ruger shotguns, which garnered high praise in the sporting field, including being recipient of the "Golden Bullseye" Shotgun of the Year award from American Rifleman magazine, in 2005. Two models of Gold Label Ruger shotguns were produced, one with an American style pistol grip stock, and the other with an English style straight grip stock. Outside of the firearms industry, Ruger Golf produces steel and titanium castings for golf clubs made by a number of different brands, but Ruger sport rifles are a large part of the company's primary focus, firearms.
With one of the largest selections available anywhere, Sportsman’s Depot, LLC carries Ruger shotguns along with many other top quality brands.
